Professor So Iwata (IC London, UK) and
Margarida Archer (ITQB, Oeiras, Portugal) are organising the
course "Membrane Proteins: the rocky road from gene to
structure", to be held at ITQB, Oeiras, Portugal (http://www.itqb.unl.pt/),
from September 19-24 2005.
The sequence of topics covered by the course will follow roughly
the “rocky road” to go from the gene to the crystal
of membrane proteins, which are still two major bottlenecks
on their structural characterization. It will include lectures
in the morning and tutorials/practical sessions in the afternoon.
This course is intented mainly for PhD students or post-docs
with special interest on membrane proteins. Around 25 participants
will be accepted.
