The Redox Biology Group, formerly known as the Oxidative Stress Group, comprises scientists at the various levels of career development and students working and interested on redox biology, a unifying field in the pathophysiology of human diseases, including cancer, cardiovascular, metabolic and neurodegenerative diseases. The group’s interest spans from signal transduction and redox signaling, oxidative stress, nitrosative stress, aging and age-related diseases, metabolic regulation, mitochondrial function and signaling, nutrition and polyphenols, homeostatic mechanisms and adaptative responses, redox chemistry/biochemistry and antioxidant enzymes in microorganisms, plants, animals and humans.

The group is recognized as member of the international Society in the field, namely the Society for Free Radical Research Europe (SFRRE), and the group members benefit from the SFRRE activities, including congresses, workshops, fellowships, webinars and journals.
